All applicants for Direct Support Positions must have:

  • A High School Diploma or GED, and
    A driver’s license valid for use in NC, at least three years driving experience, and a good driving record. Proof of Auto Liability Insurance is also required.
  • Prospective employees must provide information necessary to verify their education, employment history, and driving record. Offers of employment are conditional upon the verification of background information including a national criminal check if applicable. Employees must complete a medical statement/Tb questionaire upon employment and annually thereafter.

Group Homes

Direct Support Staff assist and encourage residents to become more independent in their daily lives, to participate in more fully in their community, and to protect their right to be treated with fairness and dignity. Direct Support Staff positions may be full-time, part-time, or PRN. Positions may involve weekdays only, a combination of weekdays and weekends, weekends only, or even alternate weekends. They may be on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Starting pay varies depending on worksite, schedule and education. Experience and education in human services is preferred.
